Samantha & Ken: Tech, Love, and Video Games

Planning a wedding with a theme is so much fun! Samantha and Ken were college sweethearts who both majored in computer science and shared a love of video games. The goal was to personalize their wedding with a computer and video game theme, while still creating an elegant event. Of course, the key was in the playful details. The photos by Michael Rastall Photography capture the magic:

The bridal party having fun.

Many churches and venues do not allow flower petals to be thrown.
As an alternative, we had the flower girl hand full-stemmed flowers,
to guests, as she made her way up the aisle.
Guests were surprised and delighted by the twist on tradition!

The themed details started with the escort cards, which were displayed as keys on a keyboard.
As guests removed their cards, the keyboard underneath was revealed.

The tablescape featured the purple and yellow color scheme with custom cookies in the shape of video game characters at each place setting.

Instead of table numbers, each table was named after a video game or gaming console.

Some of the custom cookie favors included Kirby and GameBoy.

Cute and yummy!

The traditional money dance involves guests pinning dollar bills to the wedding dress.
But using a sash for pinning can help avoid tears or sticks.

Whimsical signature drinks added to the theme.

The cardbox - can you guess which video game it's from?

Congratulations to Samantha & Ken!

Naz & Sean: Movie Magic

Both being film school graduates, Naz and Sean were full of creative ideas for their movie-themed wedding. With a personally-produced movie, a live action sequence, and Bollywood style dance, there were tons of details to coordinate! But it was a magical day, where traditional Pakistani customs met Americana. Check out the awesome photos by Jay Crihfield Photography!

The Ceremony at River East Arts Center

After the ceremony, an intricate grand exit was planned.
Remember, these huge banners from high school football game days?
We arranged for special permission to gather on the Riverwalk outside.

We readied the newlyweds and started the countdown....

And away they went!

As guests cheered and waived ribbons!

We got special permission for a car to drive up on the Riverwalk for a very limited amount of time, so the timing had to be just right!
This convertible awaited the bride and groom to carry them around town.

The guests returned inside for cocktail hour!

Upon the bride and groom's return, it was time for their grand entrance into the reception.
A black and white silent-film style movie, starring and personally filmed and produced by the couple, played for guests.
The couple waited behind the scenes for their cue.

In the film, a chase ensues. And where do the characters end up?
Running right into River East Arts Center, of course!
Cue the live action sequence...
A fight develops between the villain (one of our groomsmen) and the hero (the groom).

Not to worry.... It all ends well with a Bollywood dance.
Cue the music!

Then, it's time for dinner!
Guests enjoyed both classic cuisine by Jewell Events and delicious Pakistani food.

Each table was named after a famous movie.
Each place setting featured a menu and wedding favor.

This Avatar bride and groom topped off the cupcake tower.

Party Time!

Congratulations to Naz & Sean!

Maria & Tony: A Taste of the Windy City

Maria and Tony's wedding melded traditional Filipino culture with highlights from the big city. The city-themed wedding featured famed Chicago nibbles, landmarks, and that classic cityscape. Check out the fantastic photos by Greenkey Photography:

Each table was named after a place that is special to the bride & groom.
A bag of the renowned Garrett's popcorn awaited each guest at their seat.

The traditional Filipino money dance is a fascinating sight for the kids!

Sachets of potpourri for a sweet take-home.

Today's guestbooks make for a wonderful piece to display in the couple's home.

Congratulations to Maria & Tony!

What's Left After The Cake is Gone?

The wedding cake is a delicious way to commemorate your wedding. But once that last slice is eaten, what remains to remind you of your first dessert as a married couple? The cake topper!

Cake toppers have come a long way from the standard bride and groom atop the cake. Now couples are choosing unique cake toppers that reflect their personalities and relationship. After the wedding, the topper can be displayed in your home as a reminder of your big day.

Here are some of our favorites!
